The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) establishes rules for student-athletes who want to progress from participation in high school athletics to participation in college athletics. The NCAA outlines specific rules for when, and under what circumstances, communication may occur between athletes and their families, college coaches and assistant coaches.
The academic requirements for participation depend upon the division of the college to which you apply, Division I, II or III, and the year that you will begin college.
All prospective college athletes must register with the NCAA Eligibility Center who will then evaluate your academic record to determine if you are eligible to participate in a Division I or II college program in your freshman year.
